Welcome! My name is Jen Dickinson. First and foremost, I am a wife and mommy. I have an amazing husband, Chris, and two beautiful children. Olivia was born in September of 2015 and Eli was born in March of 2018. I am also a physical therapist at Physical Therapy of Concordia in Concordia, MO. I currently treat a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions including pelvic pain, urine and/or bowel incontinence/leakage, urinary hesitancy, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, and painful intercourse. I also treat pregnant and postpartum women and the plethora of aches and pains that come with that time of life.
Whenever I start to tell someone what I do for a living, I am often met with puzzling looks and A LOT of questions. I decided to start this blog to address some of the questions I frequently get from friends, family members, co-workers, and patients. I also wanted to spread the word about pelvic floor PT and hopefully convince some of you to seek help. I tried to write the posts like how I speak with my patients.
Remember, I am a physical therapist. My college coursework was filled with science classes, and my daily writing consists of medical abbreviations. Please do not hold my grammatical errors against me. 😉
